[She is and she isn't. It took too long for her to realize that she didn't have to be around people who would hurt her heart and can be instead be surrounded by those who cherished her and didn't want to see her suffer inwardly.

But she'll be alone in never knowing what exactly is in her body and how and why her mind is the way it is. That said, Abel's words are a comfort even if she won't reply to it directly.]

You are very troublesome. You woke me up to go watch anime and then grabbed my neck. Although you're kind of right. I'm not totally nice.

[ he shoots her a Look at that - but decides that instead of giving her a lecture about it, he's going to shove a handful of pretzels in his mouth instead.

That said, the next hour or so, Monts is pretty quiet as they watch the cute shoujo baking anime. She's not much for commentary and just watches the screen with a pensive gaze as a dramatic scene of making chocolate chip cookies ensues.

All in all, it's a miracle they've been able to steer back from that little incident as the pile of DVDS and the fallen shelf lays behind them.]

[ he absolutely does this to himself, it's like he enjoys this kind of suffering or something...

WELL, Abel is that kind of guy who likes to makes comments loudly with his mouth full of food everytime something interesting happens so Enjoy That, Monts -- she's never going to invite him to do things with her again after this. but after a while he's getting more wrapped up in the plot (???) and starts getting quieter, thank God......

...by the end of that first hour, he's actually engrossed?? hello??? he is enjoying this more than he thought he would... please tell him she wants to have a conversation about the love triangle happening between three of these junior chefs, ]

[Will Ichigo-chan choose the light-haired smiling prince, or is the dark-haired and scowling boy going to come in for the swoop? The stakes have never been higher as the baking and pastry competition intensifies and the sweets get sweeter!!

Monts is mildly surprised that Abel quiets down for a bit so she assumes that he's finally letting the anime speak for itself. She'll only speak up when the credits for the 10th episode start to play over the cutesy ending song.]

Well! That was a lot more drama over a strawberry shortcake than I expected.

[ Abel is 100% invested, his desperately romantic heart falling hook line and sinker for this sordid love story!! he gives a little start when Monts interrupts his Deep Thoughts about how Ichigo is faced with such a difficult decision... how could anyone POSSIBLY make a choice between these two cuties?! ]

...I had no IDEA cooking animes were like this, I-- I would've started watching them so much sooner...!! And now I really want chocolate chip cookies, by the way.

Mm-hm. Chocolate chip it is...

[It is a reply with the tone and power of a disinterested mom. She glances at Abel to take in his reaction... What a lively priest he is, even after being thrown into a shelf full of DVDs.]

[ disinterested mom voice, ah, he's well acquainted. Caterina uses it on him far too often, so he takes it into stride as he roots around through what's left of their snack pile. ]

Oh, that's basically an impossible decision, if you ask me. I mean-- [ he sticks a cookie in his mouth -- it isn't chocolate chip, but beggars can't be choosers ] --she has good chemistry with both of them, you know? And she's really seemed to bond with Koharu, who has that whole prince charming aesthetic going for him. He's the type of guy who would definitely treat her right... you could see him being the thoughtful and really respectful kind of boyfriend, couldn't you? But there's something about the rough-around-the-edges type... like, it's a thrilling sort of relationship where he's prickly on the outside, but he would come flying out of nowhere and beat up anyone who tried to mess with her! [ he punches

the air. demonstratively. ]

He's passionate~! That devotion can't be taken lightly, either... u-ugh, how on earth do you choose in that situation...?!

[She had slowly working on her second can of beer as well along with the bag of salt and vinegar chips. Monts shakes her head in disbelief at his dissertation of the love triangle conundrum.]

You are way too invested in this.

[But instead of chiding and talking down to him this time, she really does sound amused. Perhaps, she's even having a little bit of fun?]

Personally speaking, I don't think I have a preference for which guy she could choose over the other.

I'm... I'm just the right amount of invested in this! What do you mean...?! And how could you say you don't have a preference? None at all...?

[ he isn't sure if he's insulted or genuinely curious, so he decides he's inevitably both simultaneously ]

[She munches on a chip before answering Abel as she glances to the side, thinking.]

It could be I'm coming at this from my current perspective where I'm older while the characters are younger.

Then again... [She points to Akio, the dark-haired bad boy as he appears in the ending animation.]

Whether I was a teen or now, I suppose he'd be the one I'd go for. Possibly.

[ heh... HEH, really? Abel is watching her at this development, the half-eaten cookie in his hand all but forgotten ]

Oho...? So Miss Monts has a thing for bad boys, is that it? I never would've pegged you for the type, honestly.

More like... He's the type of guy who tries to act tough, but it's a whole lot of talk. Pair him up with a girl who isn't afraid to step on his toes and he realizes that he's got more than he bargained for.

[That second beer is quickly drained and she continues her oddly thorough explanation.]

... And by the end, he's a sputtering red-faced puddle and you can't help but want to mess him up even more.

[Annnnd on cue, that beer can is crushed.]

You know, no one could ever accuse you of being a woman who isn't aware of what she wants~! That's quite admirable! Mm, very admirable! It's good to look yourself in the mirror and acknowledge these kind of things. Isn't there a word for that, though? Um... sadist? No, not that one. Dominatrix...? Wait, that doesn't sound right either--

I think I've been called that before... A sadist I mean. That might be too simple of an explanation, but I certainly don't have the urge to put dog leashes or literally hit anyone with a riding crop or some other stereotypical dominatrix nonsense otherwise.

[When she puts it in words, it sometimes makes sense, but it's not set in stone so to speak.]

And in general, I've been told I'm fickle as well. Can't dispute that either...

U-um, anyway... I think most bad boys in these kind of animes are the type that are easily flustered! You know, since they're not used to the attention.

Back to the anime bad boys, I see that they're not used to the attention and they're used to bullying girls without getting a taste of their own medicine.

...Ah? You think it's bullying? I mean, I guess I could see that... Some of them are that, 'play it cool, aloof' types too. Now that I'm thinking about it, there's a lot of nuance in these archetypes, aren't there?
